Stuffed Peppers

5 sweet green peppers
5 tomatoes
1 onion
750 g ground beef
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 egg

Slice top off peppers. Remove core and seeds. Slice top off tomatoes. Scoop out pulp. Dice onions. In bowl, mix together beef, onions, onion soup mix and egg. Stuff mixture into peppers and tomatoes. Place in greased roasting pan. Bake in 180°C oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until beef is no longer pink inside.


String Beans with Bacon and Pears

500 g green beans, trimmed
500 g slab bacon
5 mL savoury
2 mL salt
5 whole pears

Place green beans in large Dutch oven. Place bacon on top. Sprinkle with savoury and salt. Cook in pressure cooker for 20 minutes. Add pears. Simmer over medium heat until bacon is cooked through and pears are tender.
